The UK National Lottery draw takes place on Wednesday and Saturday. Typically the Saturday draw has much larger jackpots. Six main numbers and a bonus ball are selected from the same pool of balls (it is not possible to have a bonus ball that has already been drawn as a main number). The jackpot is paid to anyone with all 6 main numbers and will roll over if nobody has achieved this. A substantial prize is also paid to any player who has 5 numbers and the bonus ball. Smaller prizes are available to players who have 5, 4 or 3 main numbers.
In 2015 Camelot made significant changes to the format: increasing the number of balls to 59; increasing the number of times the draw could roll over and adding a prize for 2 numbers.
